Mindfulness exercises are ways of paying attention to the present moment, using techniques like meditation, breathing, and yoga. Training helps people to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and body sensations so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, they are better able to manage them. Practising mindfulness can give more insight into emotions, boost attention and concentration, and improve relationships.

BSUH Hikers Society was created by Hamden and Esme as a way of offering staff a healthy and rewarding outlet where you can enjoy the great outdoors in the company of colleagues and friends. Working in a hospital can often mean we overlook our own health and wellbeing in the favour of caring for others, so we hope this group gives you the chance to escape from the chaos and enjoy a bit of ‘me’ time.

In order to make sure you have the support you need we have put together a useful Menopause Guide with tips and advice on managing the many effects it can have. We also hold Menopause Cafés in Brighton and Worthing in order to create a supportive culture where staff feel comfortable and able to talk about how it is affecting them, their friends, their families and their colleagues.
