A health and wellbeing Toolkit, for staff with little or no access to computers and the Trust info-net, is being rolled out across BSUH over the coming weeks.
The Alex Children’s Hospital has already received their copies and they have been well received by staff on the wards. The next delivery will be to F&E teams on both sites.
The hard-copy file includes information and activities available at BSUH for physical, mental and financial health and wellbeing.
Physical activities include yoga, Pilates, swimming, hiking and tap dancing. There’s also information on Wellbeing MOTs, occupational health physiotherapy and eye tests.
Mental health support includes the BSUH HELP service, Connections, Freedom to speak up guardian, LGBTQ+ Network and smoking cessation.
Financial help includes details of the cycle to work and car lease schemes, bus passes, onsite nurseries and staff discounts.
“We know that not everyone has access to the info-net or computers,” says Faye Heffernan, BSUH Engagement, Health and Wellbeing Manager. “The Toolkit will enable staff to see what’s available, and is in line with our commitment to take positive action on health and wellbeing.”
