Thousands of events are planned across the country for National Fitness Day on Wednesday 25 September, encouraging the nation to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity.
Clubs, parks, leisure centres and gyms will be opening their doors and welcoming people to get a move-on. Last year’s national event saw more than four million people being active on the day, across every region of the UK. And it matters because physical inactivity is listed as a leading cause of preventable diseases. The UK is lagging behind many other countries and is currently ranked 123 out of 168 nations for physical inactivity, according to the World Health Organization.
